Adena leaf-shaped / leaf blade are a type of prehistoric stone artifact from the Adena culture (Early Woodland period, roughly 800 BCE–100 CE) in the Ohio Valley and surrounding areas of the eastern United States. cdr.lib.unc.edu These are typically bifacially flaked, leaf- or lanceolate-shaped blades/points made of high-quality flint (often colorful Flint Ridge material from Ohio). They range from relatively small to large cache blades or knives. Some examples show reddish-brown, yellowish-red, or pinkish hues due to the natural coloration and inclusions in the flint.
