In Tlingit mythology and art, the Thunderbird and Whale (often specifically the Killer Whale or Orca) represent a cosmic struggle between the sky and the sea, symbolizing the tension between upper and lower worlds. This motif is a central crest for the Wooshkitaan (Eagle/Thunderbird) and Dak l'aweidí (Killer Whale) clans, reflecting their social and spiritual significance.
