Makah round baskets with lids, commonly known as "trinket baskets," are historically significant, hand-woven artifacts created by the Makah people of Neah Bay, Washington. Originally evolving from traditional utilitarian items, these labor-intensive, finely twined baskets transformed into a flourishing decorative cottage industry following contact with European settlers.
