Yoly Ledezma is a Mata Ortiz/Casas Grandes potter from the village of Mata Ortiz in Chihuahua, Mexico. She is known for hand-coiled red-clay vessels—especially wide-shouldered jars, seed pots, and small vases—with unusual flared or square rims. Her signature style uses cuadrillos, a dense black-and-red checkerboard/geometric patterning that typically covers most of the body while leaving the neck/rim and base in the natural clay color. Many pieces incorporate sgraffito or painted ants and other small geometric or insect motifs.
