Cody Knives (also called Cody Knife points or forms) are a diagnostic tool type from the Cody Complex, a Paleo-Indian (late Pleistocene to early Holocene) cultural group.
Cody Complex materials are primarily a Plains phenomenon (strongest in Wyoming, Colorado, Montana, Dakotas, Kansas, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Texas). Finds in the Missouri-Arkansas region (Ozarks, Mississippi River valley, etc.) are less common but documented as surface finds or trade/exchange items.
