Moccasins and Peace Pipe is a 1983 watercolor by Nita (Juanita Merle) Ramming (May 1, 1932 – May 21, 2021), a painter from White Deer, Texas (Texas Panhandle).  She was born Juanita Merle Ketchum in Conway, Texas, graduated from Panhandle High School in 1949, attended North Texas State University, and married Richard “Rick” Ramming in 1950. The couple settled in White Deer in 1951. Her 2021 obituary notes that she was “very talented with her painting,” in addition to being an accomplished pianist and organist who played for local churches. She was also active in community groups including the Square House Museum.
