Louise Platero (often hallmark "L. Platero") was a Diné (Navajo) silversmith and jewelry maker from the Navajo Nation. She and her husband Ramon Platero raised a large family and passed silversmithing skills to their children and grandchildren. Her work is primarily known in sterling silver with turquoise and other stones, not woodcarving. No widely documented records link her directly to carving Kachina dolls.
