Susie W. Crank (also known as Susie Williams Crank) is a renowned Navajo (Diné) potter from Shonto or Tonalea, Arizona, celebrated for her traditional handcrafted pottery that revives ancient techniques. As the daughter of Rose Williams—widely regarded as the matriarch of modern Navajo pottery—and sister to fellow artists Alice Cling and Sue Williams, Crank carries forward a family legacy of excellence in the craft. She began learning pottery from her mother during childhood but honed her skills later in life, crediting her sister Alice Cling for teaching her advanced techniques like precise burnishing.
