An Inuit Billiken is an Alaskan Native good-luck charm. Though the mythical, pot-bellied figure was originally created by an American illustrator in 1908, it was adopted by Alaska Native carvers around 1909 and became a celebrated symbol of good fortune throughout the Arctic.
