Mid/Late 20th Century
42" L
Hand Crafted from Sterling Silver with 1 #8 Spiderweb Oval Turquoise Stone with a Black Leather Braided Cord and 2 Sterling Silver Tips with 1 #8 Spiderweb Turquoise in Each Tip
In Very Good Condition
The main slide features a large oval turquoise stone set in silver, shaped or arranged in a distinctive "T" form (perhaps a T-shaped bezel, overlay, or the stone itself evoking that outline). Then, the bolo cord tips are accented with two smaller oval cabochons of high-grade #8 spiderweb turquoise, also in silver settings. #8 spiderweb turquoise (from the famous Number Eight mine in Nevada, now closed) is one of the most prized and collectible varieties out there. It's renowned for its deep blue to blue-green colors with tight, intricate black or golden-brown/red spiderweb matrix patterns — the webbing makes each stone unique and highly valuable, especially in gem-grade pieces
These showcase the classic look of handcrafted Native American (often Navajo) bolo ties with prominent oval turquoise in sterling silver, braided leather cords, and silver tips — easy to imagine adapting with a "T" motif on the main piece and smaller #8 spiderweb ovals on the ends.
