William "Skeeter" Vail is a highly celebrated, contemporary ceramic artisan from the Navajo Nation in New Mexico. Born in 1961, he is a primary member of the well-known Vail Family, who are highly regarded throughout the Southwest for popularizing and pioneering contemporary Native American horsehair and sgraffito (etched) pottery styles.
