Nez Perce corn husk purses (or bags) are traditional flat-twined woven items from the Plateau region of the Pacific Northwest, primarily associated with the Nez Perce (Nimiipuu) and other tribes like the Yakama, Umatilla, Cayuse, and Palouse. These are often called "cornhusk bags" or "Plateau bags." They are prized for their intricate geometric designs (sometimes representational in later examples), double-sided patterns (usually different on each side), strength, flexibility, and cultural significance.
