Desert Sands Pottery (Evans family) multi-color swirl jar/vase — mid-20th-century American art pottery, non-Native is a distinctive “mission swirl” (or “mineral and sand”) ware produced by the Evans family (primarily Arthur, Ferrell, Dorothy, and Terrell Evans). It is not Native American pottery. It is commercial American art pottery made primarily in Boulder City, Nevada (late 1940s–early 1960s) and later Barstow, California (Ferrell Evans continued production into the 1970s).
