Wilson "Buddy" George was born in 1958 and is a member of the Nuu-chah-nulth Nation from the West Coast of Vancouver Island. He has been carving full-time since 1991 and has worked extensively with the Hunt family, specifically the late Tony Hunt Jr.. He is now mentoring Tony's son, Robert Hunt, and they have completed some pieces together. He lives and creates his work in Nanaimo B.C.. Buddy continues to study and explore the traditions of both the Nuu-chah-nulth and Kwakwaka'wakw cultures. He is particularly interested in expressing the legends and stories of his heritage through his work.
