Ojibwe birch bark and quill lidded boxes are extraordinary, handcrafted masterpieces of Great Lakes tribal art. Made by the Anishinaabe (Ojibwe/Chippewa) people of the Upper Midwest United States and Ontario, Canada, these boxes blend natural architecture with intricate embroidery. They traditionally served as functional containers for storing sweet maple sugar, wild rice, berries, or sacred dried medicines, and evolved into highly prized collector's items.
