Paiute Indian Doll Cradle Baskets are miniature versions of traditional Paiute cradleboards or baby carriers, crafted through expert basketry by Native American artisans from the Paiute tribes (primarily Northern and Southern Paiute in the Great Basin region, including areas of Nevada, California, Utah, and Oregon). These small cradles, often 5–15 inches long, were made either as toys for young girls to practice childcare, as dolls' accessories, or as tourist items in the early to mid-20th century.
