A Paiute Olla is a traditional basket woven by the Paiute (or Piute) peoples, Native American tribes primarily from the Great Basin region (including parts of Nevada, California, Utah, and Oregon). The term "olla" (from Spanish, meaning a jar or pot) describes the basket's shape: typically a globular or bottleneck form with a wide body, narrow neck, and sometimes a pointed or rounded base. These baskets were highly functional and artistic.
