Papago lidded baskets (also known as Tohono O'odham lidded baskets) are traditional coiled baskets made by the Tohono O'odham people of the Sonoran Desert in southern Arizona and northern Mexico. "Papago" is an older term for the Tohono O'odham ("Desert People"). These baskets are prized for their craftsmanship, tight weaving, and cultural significance. They were traditionally used for storage, carrying goods, food preparation, and ceremonies, and many feature lids for practicality. Today, they are also valued as decorative art and collectibles.
