Commemorating the heritage of the American Southwest. In the tradition of Indian Trade Blankets, the Southwest Trails Blankets highlight the colors of the Southwest and celebrate the diversity of cultures, myths and traditions that is our common ancestry. Designed by Native American artist, Ramona Sakiestewa, this series of six Pendleton blankets commemorates the heritage of American Southwest trails. The elements in each blanket reflect the culture and tradition of the Southwest particular to the individual trails.

Resoundingly industrial, yet natural like lightning, the arrival of the railroad changed the language of American commerce and culture. When the Atchison Topeka and Santa Fe Railroad supplanted the Santa Fe Trail in the late 19th century, among the bounty conveyed from the East was highly prized Germantown yarn which was given to skilled Navajo weavers in the region. With Iron Horse Trail, Native American designer Romona Sakiestewa, exalts Germantown pictorial weavings and eyedazzlers of the 1880s, interpreting the design elements with practiced eyes, assessing more than a century of history. Woven by Pendleton Woolen Mills exclusively for Dewey Trading Company. 82% pure virgin wool/ 18% cotton. Made in the USA. Dry clean only.
