Penobscot Open Basket with Handles is a style of traditional Wabanaki (specifically Penobscot) basketry from Maine. These are handwoven, functional, and often decorative "fancy" baskets made primarily from brown ash splints (sometimes combined with sweetgrass), featuring an open top and two handles for carrying.
