Pima baskets are exquisite examples of traditional Native American basketry, handcrafted by the Akimel O'odham (often referred to as Pima or River People) of southern Arizona and northern Mexico. These baskets are renowned for their intricate geometric designs, tight coiling technique, and cultural significance, representing a deep connection to the desert environment. They were historically used for storage, cooking, and ceremonies but became collectible art in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
