An American flag motif incorporated into beadwork by Native American tribes of the Great Plains, particularly starting around 1880 during the early reservation era. This style features intricate glass seed bead designs on items like vests, moccasins, knife sheaths, pipe bags, belts, cradleboards, and horse regalia. Artists often stylized the flags—sometimes with crosses instead of stars or extended blue cantons—using lazy stitch or lane stitching techniques on hide or cloth backgrounds.
