Plains Indian style dolls are traditional Native American figures (primarily from Great Plains tribes such as Lakota/Sioux, Cheyenne, Crow, Arapaho, Kiowa, Comanche, and others) historically made as children’s toys and teaching tools. They helped girls learn skills in clothing construction, beadwork/quillwork, caregiving, and cultural practices by mirroring adult attire and roles.
