Plateau beaded doll cradles are intricate miniature versions of full-sized cradleboards crafted by Indigenous tribes of the Plateau region, such as the Nez Perce, Yakama, and Umatilla. Primarily made in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, these toy cradles served both as playthings and as educational tools to prepare young girls for future caregiving roles.
