Santanita Suazo (also spelled Santanita Cata Suazo or similar variations; born 1925 in Ohkay Owingeh Pueblo, died 2005) was a respected potter associated with Santa Clara Pueblo through marriage and family. She specialized in traditional Santa Clara styles, including polychrome redware, black-on-black jars and bowls, and figures (especially turtles). Her work often featured geometric or mountain designs, and she passed the craft to her daughters, who became prominent potters themselves: Margie Naranjo (known for miniatures), Shirley Duran, Mae Suazo Tapia, Martha Huangooah, and others in the extended family.
