Guadalupe Ortiz (1929–2015) was a renowned Native American potter from the Cochiti Pueblo in New Mexico, known for his handcrafted traditional pottery. He began creating pottery later in life, starting in 1998 after learning the craft from his wife, the esteemed potter Seferina Ortiz. His work is characterized by charming figurative pieces, including frogs and other small sculptures, which reflect the whimsical and storytelling traditions of Cochiti pottery. As the father of fellow potters Virgil, Joyce, Janice, and Inez Ortiz, Guadalupe contributed to a family legacy in the art form.
