From a Private Estate Collection - The collection was amassed by various families residing in Vandalia, Illinois (Fayette County) on private, rural land.

Prehistoric scrapers are common chipped stone artifacts found across the Midwest (e.g., Wisconsin, Illinois, Ohio, Michigan, Minnesota, Iowa, Nebraska, and surrounding areas). They were essential tools for Native American/prehistoric peoples from the Paleo-Indian period (ca. 12,000+ years ago) through Woodland and later periods.
