Prehistoric Pueblo bowl pottery is a ceramic vessels created by the Ancestral Puebloans (formerly known as Anasazi), the ancestors of modern Pueblo peoples in the American Southwest (primarily present-day Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado, and Utah). Pottery production began around AD 200 and flourished through the Pueblo periods (Pueblo I–III, roughly AD 700–1300), before European contact.
These bowls were primarily utilitarian—used for cooking, storage, serving food, and carrying water—but many featured elaborate decorations reflecting cultural, spiritual, and artistic significance. They were traded widely across the region.
