She emphasizes the “patina of age,” craftsmanship, cultural stories, and dramatic light/shadow. Her work draws on her personal collection of memorabilia and family connections to Southwestern Native cultures (including items from her great-grandmother’s time teaching on the San Carlos Apache reservation).
