Titus Capoeman is a Quinault (and Nez Perce-connected) artist, Marine, hunter, and community provider who creates Coastal Salish formline designs. facebook.com His work typically features sea wolf, killer whale, salmon, and elk motifs. He describes his process as starting with lines, ovoids, and trigons that evolve into animals, rooted in prayer, cultural protocol, and storytelling rather than pre-planned subjects. He has noted providing traditional foods—including crab, clams, salmon, deer, and elk—for elders in his community.  facebook.comHe is part of the Capoeman family of Quinault artists and cultural practitioners. His late father, Randy (R.S.) Capoeman (1956–2008), was an accomplished printmaker and carver whose works include silkscreen prints such as “Quinault Fisherman,” “Decisions II,” and others held in collections like the Seattle Art Museum. Relatives including Guy Capoeman, Jeff, and Cecil Capoeman also create traditional and contemporary Coast Salish art, canoes, paddles, and paintings. Titus has collaborated on projects such as a canoe/totem named for his father.
