Rosita de Herrera (b. ca. 1940) is a respected potter from Ohkay Owingeh Pueblo (formerly San Juan Pueblo), New Mexico. She belongs to the Tewa people and is known for traditional hand-coiled pottery, especially incised (carved or engraved) and polished redware or blackware pieces in the Potsuwi’i style revival. She learned pottery-making from her mother, Tomasita Reyes Montoya, one of the key figures (among a small group of about eight women) who revived pottery production at Ohkay Owingeh in the 1930s after a period of decline. Her sister, Dominguita Naranjo (or Sisneros), is also a noted potter. The family tradition continues; for example, her son Norman de Herrera is also a potter.
