Anna Archuleta (Born in 1953) learned pottery-making from her mother, Belen Tapia (a well-known potter), and began creating pieces around 1975, though she started signing and producing under her own name more prominently from 1988 onward. Her sister, Anita Suazo, was also taught by their mother. She often collaborates with or is mentioned alongside her husband Fidel Archuleta in some works. Specializes in stone-polished redware (deep red polished surfaces with carved designs), blackware (reduced firing for black color), polychrome redware, carved bowls, jars, plates, and melon bowls. Common motifs include avanyu (Tewa water serpent), bear claws, feather patterns, lightning bolts, and geometric designs. Her work is highly regarded for its precision in carving and traditional techniques, and pieces are collected and sold through galleries, auctions, and online marketplaces like Adobe Gallery, Andrea Fisher Pottery, King Galleries, Medicine Man Gallery, and others.
