Jody Naranjo is an award-winning contemporary Tewa potter from the

Santa Clara Pueblo, renowned for her innovative fusion of traditional techniques with a unique, humorous, and contemporary sgraffito etching style. Naranjo was born into a renowned pottery-crafting family and is the daughter of potter Dolly Naranjo and the granddaughter of the respected potter Rose Naranjo.  She started working with clay as a young child, learning traditional methods, including digging and processing native clay, hand coiling, and outdoor pit firing, from her mother and other female relatives. She still uses the polishing stones passed down from her grandmother. She attended the Institute of American Indian Arts.
