Santa Clara Pueblo Red Wedding Jar is a traditional form of pottery from Santa Clara Pueblo in New Mexico, one of the Northern Pueblo communities known for its masterful ceramic work.
The wedding Jar or wedding vase is a distinctive shape: a double-spouted vessel with two necks or spouts connected by a single arched handle (often bridge-like). Traditionally, it symbolizes unity in marriage—the two spouts represent the couple, joined together. In some customs, each spouse drinks from one spout during a wedding ceremony.
