Debra Duwyenie (née Trujillo, also known as Debra Harvey during her collaboration) is a respected Santa Clara Pueblo potter from the Oak Clan. She learned pottery from her mother, Genevieve Tafoya (or Gutierrez), and began creating pieces around 1979. She is known for her miniature-style pottery, expert stone polishing, and intricate sgraffito (incised or etched designs scratched into the surface before firing). Common motifs include animals like hummingbirds, turtles, quails, fish, butterflies, avanyu (water serpent), and geometric or floral patterns. Her work often features highly polished redware or blackware, sometimes with micaceous slip for a sparkling effect.
