Shoshone and Paiute beaded hair barrettes are intricate, handcrafted accessories that reflect the rich cultural heritage of these Native American tribes. Known for their detailed beadwork, these barrettes often feature traditional geometric and floral designs, using techniques like peyote stitch or loom beading. Artisans, such as Shoshone Bannock beadworker Debra Lee Stone Jay from the Fort Hall Indian Reservation in Idaho, create pieces with vibrant glass seed beads, sometimes incorporating materials like buckskin or sterling silver.
