A Sioux beaded paint pouch (also called a paint bag) is a small traditional bag made by the Sioux (Očhéthi Šakówiŋ, including Lakota, Dakota, and Nakota peoples) of the Great Plains. These pouches, often from the late 19th century (circa 1880s), were crafted from brain-tanned hide (such as buckskin or elk skin) and decorated with glass seed beads, sinew sewing, and sometimes quillwork or tin cone jingles.
