Pine Ridge Indian Agency–marked knives were historical 19th-century pieces associated with the Oglala Lakota (Sioux) agency in South Dakota, and authentic originals are rare collector items.  The Pine Ridge Indian Agency (later Reservation) was established for the Oglala Lakota; the Red Cloud Agency moved there around 1878 and was renamed. Indian police forces were organized in the late 1870s onward (with federal support after 1878) to handle reservation law enforcement.
