Woven of natural and mud dyed juncus. Finely woven with larger Diamond Back Rattlesnake coiling from basket base to rim with a human figure.  Notes: there are several stories with snakes that are told in ceremonies throughout Native California; one of which is to reveal to the snake that the People are Good and therefor should not be bitten.  This may be a basket used for or in remembrance of such a ceremony.
