Salado pottery jars, famously known as Roosevelt Red Ware, represent a major prehistoric ceramic tradition that flourished in the Tonto Basin of central and southern Arizona from roughly 1150 to 1450 CE. These jars are celebrated for their highly recognizable red, black, and white polychrome designs and their vast distribution as a primary trade ware across the ancient American Southwest.
