Bird points are tiny projectile points, typically under 1.5 inches long (often ½ to 1¼ inches), used by prehistoric Native American hunters with bows and arrows to hunt small game like birds, rabbits, or squirrels. They are common in the Midwest, including Missouri's Ozark region and river valleys in the southwest part of the state (areas around Springfield, Joplin, Branson, and the White River or Gasconade River drainages).
