Hand Crafted from Micaceous Clay of a Four Legged Animal with Ears and a Tail

In Very Good Condition

Taos Pueblo artists use their regional micaceous clay to sculpt distinct animal fetishes and effigies, offering a golden, shimmering alternative to the stone carvings of the Zuni. While Zuni fetishes are globally recognized for stone carving, the Northern Tiwa artists of Taos and Picuris Pueblos express their spiritual relationship with animal protectors through earth, water, and fire using raw, mica-rich clay.

Buying from more than one category? You only pay the highest rate in your cart, so eight fetishes and a pair of earrings ship together for just $15.
