Taos Pueblo storyteller figure with baby (or child/children), signed B.T. (or BT / B. Track), is by Bernadette Track, a Taos Pueblo potter working in traditional micaceous clay. Bernadette Track is part of a multi-generational family of Taos Pueblo potters. Taos pottery is especially known for its distinctive micaceous clay, which contains natural mica particles that give finished pieces a sparkling, golden or silvery sheen. This clay was traditionally used for utilitarian cooking vessels and continues to be used for both functional and artistic pottery, including figurative work.
