Yup'ik woven trays and baskets are handcrafted by the Yup'ik people of southwestern Alaska. Characterized by fine, tight coiling and vibrant geometric patterns, they are traditionally woven from indigenous wild rye beach grass (taperrnat). Artisans also often incorporate dyed seal grass, yarn, or seal gut for intricate detailing.
