Lena Boone (c. 1940s–2024) was a renowned Zuni Pueblo artist and carver from the Boone-Weahkee family, a lineage of traditional Zuni fetish makers tracing back to the influential carver Teddy Weahkee. She was celebrated for her innovative use of unconventional materials like slag glass, art glass, and Murano glass in her carvings, which added vibrant, multicolored aesthetics to the traditional Zuni fetish style. Boone pioneered glass fetishes among Zuni artists, creating pieces that blend spiritual symbolism with striking visual appeal. She was also a mentor to younger carvers, including her children (Leland and Evalena Boone), grandchildren (like Joshua Leki), and nephews (Robert Michael and Marcel Chase Weahkee). Sadly, she passed away in August 2024.
