Abby Quandelacy (also known as Abby Quam or Abby Panteah, often collaborating with her husband Clayton Panteah) is a renowned Zuni Pueblo fetish carver known for her traditional, classic style. She specializes in simple yet elegant animal fetishes, frequently featuring precise inlaid heartlines (a line from the mouth to the heart symbolizing the breath of life and the animal's spirit).

Bear fetishes are among the most common and powerful in Zuni tradition. The bear represents the Guardian of the West, associated with strength, healing, protection, introspection, and courage. Bears are considered powerful medicine animals, especially for curative purposes, and their hibernation symbolizes going inward for restoration.
