Agnes Peynetsa was born in 1964 into a deeply rooted family of master potters at the Zuni Pueblo. She learned the intricate art of traditional pottery making from her prominent siblings, Anderson Peynetsa and Priscilla Peynetsa, as well as from legendary art instructor Jennie Laate. Agnes frequently utilizes a refined, smooth white clay base for her pieces, which are individually hand-painted and signed directly by her on the bottom.
