Zuni Pueblo snake fetishes (or carvings) are small stone (or occasionally wood/other material) figures of snakes hand-carved by artists of the Zuni (A:shiwi) people of western New Mexico. They form part of a longstanding tradition of animal carvings that dates back centuries (archaeological evidence from around A.D. 650), rooted in Zuni cosmology and beliefs about animal spirits.
