Jayne Quam (Diné/Navajo, who carves in the Zuni tradition and is frequently sold alongside Zuni Pueblo artists) is a well-known contemporary fetish carver. She produces detailed turtle fetishes from materials such as alabaster, serpentine, marble, dolomite, turquoise, and other stones, often with multi-stone mosaic or inlay work on the shell (turquoise, lapis, jasper, shell, etc.), turquoise eyes, and sometimes additional elements like a spiral or heartline. She typically signs pieces “JQ.”
