Cordero-Suina, Buffy (1969-)
Buffy Cordero‑Suina is a Cochiti Pueblo potter and one of the most important second‑generation artists in the Storyteller figurine tradition. She was born November 28, 1969 to George Cordero and Kathy Cordero, and is the granddaughter of Helen Cordero, the creator of the modern Pueblo storyteller figure. Buffy grew up literally behind her grandmother’s home, spending her childhood at Helen’s workbench — a direct apprenticeship that shaped her entire artistic identity. Her pieces were distinctive and creative in style and form. She stopped making pottery after Helen Cordero passed away in 1994.
